The trusteeship of the Melattingal Siva Temple is decreed with Amunthuruthimadom. Currently, Sri. A.P. Sachidanandaru, Sri. A.P. Thrivikramaru, Sri. A.P. Aravindakshararu and T.S. Gireesh Babu; Son of A.P. Thrivikramaru, who is the future chief priest of the next generation are the members of the Melattingal Devaswom.
Traditions are very important for the devoted sacred family of Amunthuruthimadom to maintain the sanctity of the dwelling place of Mahadevar. They observe it with inexorable commitment and worship to the deities. As a result the eldest male child in the Amunthuruthimadom Kochumadom family is initiated into pooja pattern and administrative affairs of the Melattingal Siva Temple, in accordance to the ancient documents and the 'Rahasya Upadesam' (secret and sacred advice obtained only to the sons of the family from the previous generation) from time to time.
This temple is now under the guidance of A.P Sachidanandaru; eldest among the present generation of priests at Amunthuruthimadom, who has taken the work of the entire administrative and spiritual works of the temple so far. While Tantri from THAZHAMONMADOM family is the chief priest who has the final say in ritualistic matters, Melsanthi hail from the Amunthuruthimadom used to carry out the rites there. People from all parts without any discretion of caste, creed, language, religion etc. poured for the blessings of the Mahadevan. Let us approach Melattingal Mahadeva the Lord of Lords with a pure and sincere heart then He grants even all worldly pleasures and all what devotees ask Him.
